Best All-in-One Desktop Computers Under $1000

Dell Inspiron i3459-1525BLK All-in-One 23.8-inchDell Inspiron i3459-1525BLK All-in-One 23.8-inch

If you are after a desktop computer that will not clutter up your workspace, then an All-in-One PC like the Dell Inspiron i3459-1525BLK might be the right choice for you. Designed to have a small footprint, the Dell Inspiron i3459-1525BLK All-in-One is perfect for your home or office space and it offers a large display that allows you to comfortably work on documents, surf the web or watch 1080p videos on YouTube. The IPS display offers rich colors, great viewing angles and great image quality.
The display has a nifty feature that allows you to swivel the actual display, meaning you can view it in both landscape and portrait mode. With everything built into one chassis, you get a clean, clutter free solution that looks great. It also ships with a Dell KM632 wireless keyboard and mouse so that you won’t have to worry about cables cluttering up your workspace. While it might not be the most powerful All-in-One PC on the market, it does feature a Skylake-based Intel Core i3-6100U processor and 8GB of DDR3L RAM. This will allow you to easily complete any office tasks that you may have and will offer enough power for basics tasks at home. While it does come with Intel’s HD Graphics 520 integrated graphics card, the Dell Inspiron i3459-1525BLK All-in-One is not in any way designed for gaming. You will be able to play a few of your favorite classics, or some newer games on the lowest settings. The biggest drawback of the Dell Inspiron i3459-1525BLK All-in-One is the fact that it comes standard with a slower 5400rpm mechanical hard drive and only offers 500GB of storage space. This laptop spec hard drive will mean that booting into Windows will take longer and launching apps will be slower than some of its competitors. While most desktop computers offer a minimum of 1TB these days, the Dell Inspiron i3459-1525BLK All-in-One only offers 500GB of storage space, which will fill up surprisingly fast when storing multimedia files.

  • 23.8-inch, 1920 x 1080 pixels (IPS)
  • Windows 10 Home 64-Bit
  • 16.2 lbs

Pros

  • Full-HD IPS display
  • Intel Skylake processor
  • Swivel screen design
  • Affordable price

Cons

  • No touchscreen

Summary

If you are after an affordable All-in-One desktop PC that offers decent hardware, then the Dell Inspiron i3459-1525BLK All-in-One is well worth considering. But you may have to use an external hard drive as it only features 500GB of storage space.

DELL Inspiron i5459-7020SLV All-in-One 23.8-inchDELL Inspiron i5459-7020SLV All-in-One 23.8-inch

If you are after a compact, yet powerful all-in-one desktop PC, then the DELL Inspiron i5459-7020SLV might be just up your alley. The hinge allows you to easily adjust the screen height and viewing angles to suit your needs. The multitouch enabled touch screen is very responsive and the larger screen size allows for a more accurate user experience at 1920 x 1080. The DELL Inspiron i5459-7020SLV can even be used in a retail store or restaurant with the right software installed. But with its higher price tag and its more powerful hardware it is more suited for power users at home or at work. Powered by a 6th generation Intel Core i7-6700T processor and a healthy 12GB of RAM, the DELL Inspiron i5459-7020SLV will easily run more hardware intensive apps such as Photoshop and Illustrator. The 1TB mechanical hard drive offers ample storage space for work and multimedia files and with a faster drive speed it also offers good read/write speeds. If you enjoy a bit of casual gaming, you can expect to play games on low to medium settings thanks to its integrated Intel HD Graphics 530 graphics. But the DELL Inspiron i5459-7020SLV is not designed for gaming and the graphics cannot be upgraded. While it does come with four USB 3.0 ports and two USB 2.0 ports, it’s noticeably missing a USB 3.1 Type-C port for next generation connectivity.

  • 23.8-inch, 1920 x 1080 pixels (IPS)
  • Windows 10 Home 64-Bit
  • 21.98 lbs

Pros

  • Powerful Skylake processor
  • 12GB of RAM
  • Good display hinge
  • Full-HD IPS touchscreen
  • 7200rpm hard drive

Cons

  • Larger screen bezel
  • Difficult to upgrade
  • Integrated graphics
  • No USB 3.1 Type-C

Summary

Overall the DELL Inspiron i5459-7020SLV is a good all-in-one desktop PC for users who require a bit more power for more intensive apps. But if you are looking for a gaming desktop then the DELL Inspiron i5459-7020SLV will not be suited for your needs.

Lenovo Ideacentre AIO 300 F0BY005AUS All-in-One 23-inchLenovo Ideacentre AIO 300 F0BY005AUS All-in-One 23-inch

All-in-One desktop computers are great for saving space or if you are looking for a clean and sleek setup for your work or home. The Lenovo Ideacentre AIO 300 F0BY005AUS is 23-inch All-in-One that offers great hardware for users who want to do more than just browse the web or send emails. The 6th generation Skylake Intel Core i5-6200U processor and 8GB of DDR4 2133MHz will allow you to run more intensive tasks such as design or photo editing apps. The access panel allows you to easily upgrade the RAM to a maximum of 16GB for increased performance. Don’t let the GeForce name fool you, the NVIDIA GeForce GT920A graphics card is hardly a high performance card and is only suited to casual gaming. But the purpose of the Ideacentre AIO 300 is not to be a gaming machine, so the GT920A fulfils its purpose. If you need a large amount of storage space for your files, then the Ideacentre AIO 300’s 2TB hybrid drive will suit your needs perfectly. The hybrid hard drive comes with 8GB of SSD storage, which is used for caching. But the 8GB SSD is not accessible and is automatically assigned. The large 23-inch IPS display offers great colors, sharp image quality and wide viewing angles for streaming videos, web browsing and for design work. The 10-point multitouch screen is very responsive and makes navigating around Windows 10 a breeze. But the display only pivots up and down, and cannot be raised or lowered like some of its competitor’s designs.

  • Intel [View Benchmarks]
  • Nvidia 2GB Dedicated
  • 8GB DDR4 2133MHz RAM
  • 2000GB 7200 RPM HDD / 8GB SSD
  • 23 inch, 1920 x 1080 pixels (IPS)
  • Windows 10 Home 64-Bit
  • 15.3 lbs

Pros

  • Intel Skylake processor
  • Sharp Full-HD IPS display
  • Large hybrid hard drive
  • Small footprint

Cons

  • Weak NVIDIA graphics card
  • Lenovo bloatware
  • Only 2 USB 3.0 ports

Summary

The Lenovo Ideacentre AIO 300 F0BY005AUS is an All-in-One desktop PC which offers decent performance and a large 2TB hybrid hard drive. But the NVIDIA GeForce GT920A is not designed for hardcore gaming.

Lenovo-C40-21.5-Inch

Lenovo C40-30

The Lenovo C40-30 is an all in one PC, with all the internal hardware packed behind its 21.5-inch screen. It occupies a very small area on your desk because there is no separate CPU Box. The C40 has a very minimalistic design made of plastic and it almost looks like a large tablet with thick bezels around the screen. Right below the display, you will find a long horizontal speaker grille that is Dolby enhanced to produce a crisp audio sound. The back cover is less glossy than the front and has some patterns for a slightly distinct look. The entire desktop sits on a sturdy Y-shaped base with tilt adjustment if you want to change the angle of your display. However, there is no vertical adjustment on the stand. The power button and optical drive are placed on the left, while the headphone jack, media card reader and two USB 30 ports are situated along the right edge. Three USB 3.0 ports, Ethernet and an HDMI-in port can be found on the back of the display. With an HDMI-in port you will able to use the C40 as a standalone display even if the internal components become obsolete in the future. The included keyboard and mouse are both wired and feel cheap, but get the job done. The 21-inch 1920 x 1080 display is impressive and the stereo speakers are loud enough to fill the entire room. The combination of an AMD A8-7410 processor, 8GB of RAM and 2TB HDD leads to a performance similar to a mid-range laptop in a similar price range. It’s more than adequate for watching movies, downloading software and running the usual Windows applications. At $609 the Lenovo C40 should be affordable to most users, and the price is reasonable for its performance and features.

  • 21.5-Inch, 1920 x 1080 pixels
  • Windows 8.1
  • 14.1 lbs

Pros

  • FHD display
  • Touchscreen
  • Ample Storage
  • Good performance

Cons

  • Weak integrated graphics
  • Lots of bloatware

Summary

The Lenovo C40 provides a great multimedia computing experience once you have finished uninstalling all the bloatware.

Best Premium All-in-One Desktop Computers

Apple iMac MK472LL/A 27-inchApple iMac MK472LL/A 27-inch

Popular TV shows and Hollywood have used the iMac for a number of years now due to its sleek and stylish design. However, there is more to these beautiful all-in-one desktop than meets the eye. The Apple iMac MK472LL/A features a stunning 5K Retina display, which in theory is great for video editors who intend on releasing 4k videos. However, the Apple iMac MK472LL/A only ships with 8GB of DDR3 RAM, which will slow down your workflow. Luckily the Apple iMac MK472LL/A still allows the user to upgrade the memory themselves. This is made even easier by the access panel on the back, as you no longer need to remove the entire back panel to access the hardware as was the case with older models of the iMac. Another blow to serious video editors is the Skylake-based Intel i5-6500 processor, while this is more than powerful enough for everyday tasks, it is slightly underpowered for heavy video editing or animation work. However, if you don’t mind not having the fastest processor or longer rendering times, then the Apple iMac MK472LL/A is well worth its price tag for the 5k display alone. The display also offers a wide color gamut and the AMD Radeon R9 M390 graphics card will allow you to use the Apple iMac MK472LL/A for graphic design purposes. The Apple iMac MK472LL/A ships with what Apple calls a Fusion storage drive, however this is just fancy Apple marketing talk for a hybrid storage drive. While these drives are faster than standard storage drives, they still do not match the superior speeds of solid state drives. Overall the Apple iMac MK472LL/A is a great all-in-one PC for design work, however the hardware is not ideal for serious video editors who should rather consider an Apple Mac Pro.

  • 27-inch, 5120 x 2880 pixels (IPS)
  • Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan

Pros

  • 5K Retina display
  • Premium design
  • AMD Radeon graphics
  • Hybrid storage drive
  • Easily upgradable RAM

Cons

  • Only ships with 8GB of RAM
  • i5 CPU not ideal for professionals
  • No Thunderbolt 3
  • No optical drive

Summary

The Apple iMac MK472LL/A offers a brilliant 5K display for design work and photo editing. However, it is slightly underpowered for serious 4k video editors.

Apple-iMac-ME086LL-A-21.5-Inch

Apple iMac ME086LL/A

The Apple iMac ME086LL/A features elegant curves, a glass covered front and an aluminum unibody design, which has remained unchanged since 2012. However, the build quality is top notch and the minimalistic aesthetics still stand out as a modern classic. As with other iMacs, the access to internal components is sealed and all of the ports are stacked at the rear panel, which is understandable since the display measures just 5mm at its thickest. The port collection includes four USB 3.0 ports, two Thunderbolt ports- one of which doubles as a Mini-DisplayPort, and a media card slot. The iMac ships with the standard Apple wireless keyboard and Magic Mouse, both of which are of high quality. The 21.5-inch display supports a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It is clear, bright and not excessively glossy. However, it is not a touchscreen because OS X still lacks the interface optimized for finger inputs and multi-touch gestures. The screen rests on a curved stand with a hidden hinge allowing 30 degrees of vertical adjustment. Powered by a Quad-Core Intel i5 processor complemented by 8GB of RAM and a 1TB Hard Drive, the iMac delivers optimum performance on light to moderately intensive tasks. According to NotebookCheck, the onboard Intel Iris Pro Graphics is almost equivalent to dedicated graphics cards like GeForce GT650M and GT750M, which means you can even run the latest games fluently in medium or low settings and a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. Like other Mac systems, the iMac ME086LL/A comes with a collection of Apple apps like iMovie, Keynote, Numbers, Pages, GarageBand and Time Machine.

  • 21.5-Inch, 1920 x 1080 pixels (IPS)
  • Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite
  • 12.5 lbs

Pros

  • Premium metallic design
  • Thin form factor
  • Great performance
  • Silent operation

Cons

  • Not user upgradable

Summary

A great workhorse from Apple, the iconic iMac delivers exceptional performance and even some gaming capabilities although Mac OS X games are relatively limited.

HP ENVY 34-a010 All-in-One 34-inch

While most All-in-One desktop computers come with either a 23-inch or a 27-inch display, the ENVY 34-a010 comes with a massive 34-inch curved display. Classed as the world’s largest display of any All-in-One desktop computer, you won’t have any issue when it comes to working with multiple windows open. The curved display makes working on the extra-wide display a lot more comfortable and looks every bit as elegant as the top of the range iMac’s. With a maximum resolution of 3440 x 1440, it’s classed as an ultra-wide QHD display, meaning that you will be able to enjoy all of your favorite movies and series in brilliant quality. It will easily stream 1440p YouTube videos with ease. Powered by a sixth generation Skylake-based Intel Core i5-6400T processor and 12GB of DDR4 2133MHz, the HP ENVY 34-a010 will have no issues when it comes to everyday tasks. You will even be able to run more intensive tasks such as photo and video editing. While the 1TB mechanical hard drive offers ample storage space, it is a slower 5400rpm drive which will affect its boot time and app loading speeds. Replacing the 2.5-inch hard drive for a faster 7200rpm drive or a solid state drive is possible, but it will require some more in-depth PC knowledge and some time. You can also add an M.2 SSD, but this is a bit of an undertaking as the motherboard will have to be removed. You will even be able to game on the HP ENVY 34-a010 thanks to its dedicated NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960a graphics card.

  • Intel [View Benchmarks]
  • Nvidia 2GB GDDR5
  • 12GB DDR4 2133MHz RAM
  • 1024GB 5400 RPM HDD
  • 34-inch, 3440 x 1440 pixels (IPS)
  • Windows 10 Home 64-Bit
  • 29.77 lbs

Pros

  • Largest All-in-One on the market
  • Brilliant IPS Quad-HD display panel
  • Dedicated NVIDIA graphics
  • Bang & Olufsen audio
  • Good port selection

Cons

  • Slow hard drive
  • No optical drive
  • Mid-level Intel processor
  • Price

Summary

The HP ENVY 34-a010 is a massive All-in-One desktop computer with a beautiful curved display. But the slower SATA 5400rpm hard drive might frustrate some users and it is not easy to replace.
